Border Connection and Wrapping Up Our Tombstone Time

February 6-8, 2017
Tombstone - Tucson, Arizona

A little laundry is done on Monday, but other than that, not much - we enjoy a very lazy day.

:-))))
Donnie returns to work on Tuesday and we head south to the quirky little town of Bisbee. Although we will be spending a week in Tucson with the four of them, we are having breakfast with more good friends. We've had the pleasure of meeting up with John and Pam this year, but we haven't seen Dave and Sue since we were all together last year in nearby Catalina State Park. It's always a fun time!

The main goal of this visit is to take a photo. 5 months ago we got one with John and Pam with Canada behind us - and I wanted one with Mexico behind us :-)) Not something you can do in just any lifestyle!

Clayton, New York - September

Naco, Arizona - February thanks for taking the photo Sue :-)
We take our time driving through Bisbee. It's a fun old mining town - and another reason we love this area so much.

Back home we get things ready for the next day's travel. When Donnie arrives we all head to Sierra Vista to meet Anna for Taco Tuesday at a favorite, La Casita. Of course they know the whole staff :-))

They will be off to work early so we say our good-byes before we call it a night. Fortunately we'll see them at the reunion in April! What a wonderful week we had, it went way too fast.

Wednesday's drive is a short 58 miles to Tucson Lazydays/KOA where we're amazed by the size of the park. As I go in to register I hear "Hello Tessa!"

Pam has just registered, she and John having arrived minutes before us. Can't wait to see Dave and Sue again, and to meet Gay and Joe as well!

I'm really loving Arizona in February!

  1. We do have some nice weather in Arizona--December and January not so much but once February arrives it's usually good!

    1. We were lucky to have good January weather last year, and fortunate to avoid this year's cold and rain :-) We have really enjoyed every area we've seen so far!

  2. Canada and Mexico as backgrounds=genius idea! Aren't you glad that fly on the wall isn't actual size :-) I bet you and the rest of your group will have lively fireside conversations! Oh, and some yummy IP cooking too :-))

  5. What fun, so many meet ups with John and Pam. Love those two shots on the north and south border. Good thing you got the southern one before "the wall" goes up. Looks like fun coming up with so many friends.

    1. We've been fortunate to cross paths with great people. I can't believe we're spending money on another wall - we're standing in front of a double one in Naco.

  6. So fun that you guys are all together in Arizona! Good friends, sunshine, and lots of adventures ahead. Wish we were there, too. :-)) We always love our visits to Bisbee, but that enormous fly is creepy.

  7. A stop in Bisbee is on our list!
I so agree that Tucson is a perfect February stop...it's also beautiful in March when the desert is blooming.
It's awesome having so many friends right here!

  9. We haven't spent much time in Sierra Vista and only driven through. Sounds like we need to check it out more.
